A baby girl has been hailed as a Christmas miracle after being born to first-time parents who were told they could never have children.
Piper Jessie California arrived at 7.27pm on Christmas Day and her parents — Aneesa and Jesse — are hoping to take her home soon.
The couple were stunned when they were told Aneesa was pregnant because she was told she would never give birth to a child of her own.
They went through some nervous times during the pregnancy but were never worried or scared, dad Jesse told SomersetLive .
Jesse said: «My partner was told she could never have children so when we got the news she was pregnant it was very unexpected.
«We were never worried or scared but with her medical background it was a bit nervy at times.
«The birth was a like a scene from The Exorcist. It was all over in six hours, that’s all it took, but I’m a fainter and I don’t like blood.
«But Aneesa did amazingly well.»
Although the couple will now remember Christmas Day even more fondly, they’ve already taken a decision to spread the joy of family celebrations out a bit across the year.
Jesse said: «We’re probably going to celebrate her birthday in the summer so she can see friends and they’re not all busy at Christmas.»
He added that with his birthday in January and Aneesa’s in November, it made sense to space out the year’s parties.
